Bheemunipatnam is a suburb located in Visakhapatnam, India. The town derives its name from Bhima, a prominent character featured in the Hindu epic Mahabharata.
Historically, the area was administered under the Bheemunipatnam municipality until it was merged into the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) in 2017. It currently falls under the administration of the Bheemunipatnam Revenue Division, which is headquartered in the town.
