Bhimavaram

Bhimavaram is a town and the administrative headquarters of the West Godavari district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It serves as the headquarters for the Bhimavaram mandal within the Bhimavaram revenue division and is part of the Eluru Urban Development Authority.

According to the 2011 census, Bhimavaram is the most populous urban area in the West Godavari district, with a population of 163,875. The town is also recognized as a major pilgrimage center in Andhra Pradesh, notably housing Somaramam, which is one of the five great Pancharama Kshetras.
