Sulam

Sulam is an Arab village located in north-eastern Israel. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Bustan al-Marj Regional Council and is situated near the city of Afula. As of 2024, the village had a population of 2,933 residents.

The site has a long history of habitation dating from the Bronze Age through to modern times. In ancient times, the area was known as Shunama and Shunem, with its first recorded mention appearing in the Amarna Letters during the 14th century BCE. Archaeological excavations in the village provide evidence of this continuous historical presence.
