Netanya, also known as Natanya, is a city located in the Central District of Israel. It serves as the capital of the surrounding Sharon plain and is situated between the Poleg stream to the south and the Avihayil stream to the north.
The city is positioned approximately 30 kilometres (20 mi) north of Tel Aviv and 56 km (35 mi) south of Haifa. Due to its 14 km of beaches, Netanya has become a popular tourist resort destination.
