Ashdod is a city located in the Southern District region of Israel. It is situated on the Mediterranean coast, positioned approximately 32 kilometres south of Tel Aviv and 20 kilometres north of Ashkelon.
As the sixth-largest city in Israel, Ashdod is primarily known for its significant maritime infrastructure. The city's port serves as the largest in the country, handling roughly 60% of all imported goods into Israel.
