Toormakeady

Toormakeady, also spelled Tourmakeady, is a Gaeltacht located in south County Mayo in the west of Ireland. The area covers approximately 172.26 square kilometres (66.51 sq mi) and is situated between the Partry Mountains and the shores of Lough Mask.

The name Toormakeady also refers to the principal village within this region. According to the 2011 census, the area had a total population of 1,007 people, which represented a decrease from a population of 1,150 recorded in 1991.
