Buncrana is a town located in Inishowen, situated in the northern part of County Donegal within the province of Ulster, Ireland. It is positioned on the eastern shores of Lough Swilly, approximately 23 kilometres northwest of Derry and 43 kilometres north of Letterkenny.
According to the 2022 census, Buncrana has a population of 6,971 residents. This figure makes it the largest town in Inishowen and the second most populous town in County Donegal, following Letterkenny.
