Merauke is a large town (kelurahan) and an administrative district (distrik) located in the Merauke Regency of South Papua Province, Indonesia. It serves as the administrative center for the regency and was historically known by the name Ermasoe.
The location is notable for being considered the easternmost city in Indonesia, despite currently lacking official city status. It remains a primary administrative hub for the region.
