Agats is a town located in the Asmat Regency of South Papua, Indonesia. Situated on an elevated settlement within a tidal plain, it serves as the administrative seat for the regency following its formation in 2002.
The area has historical significance as a site for a Dutch outpost established in 1938. Today, Agats is primarily notable for the cultural practices of the indigenous Asmat people.
