Watampone is a town located in the South Sulawesi province of Indonesia. It serves as the capital city of the Bone Regency and is frequently referred to by its colloquial name, Bone. The town covers a total land area of 126.35 km².
Administratively, Watampone is divided into three districts: West Tanate Riattang, Tanate Riattang, and East Tanate Riattang. According to the 2020 Census, the town had a population of 149,336, with an official estimate reaching 151,554 by mid-2023.
The town is notable as the birthplace of Jusuf Kalla, who served as both the 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
