Pangkajene

Pangkajene is a city located in the Pangkajene and Islands Regency in the South Sulawesi province of Indonesia. It serves as the principal town of the regency, which is situated primarily on the mainland of Sulawesi's southern peninsula.

The regency encompasses a total land area of 1,112.29 km2 and includes the Spermonde Islands off the west coast, along with other small islands further to the west and southwest. Pangkajene is positioned in the south of the regency, with several smaller towns such as Lejang, Labakkang, Bonto-Bonto, and Segeri located north of the city along the Trans-Sulawesi Highway.

Demographic data indicates that the population of the regency grew from 305,737 in the 2010 Census to 345,775 in the 2020 Census. As of mid-2025, the official population estimate for the region is approximately 365,166.
