Pangkalan Kerinci

Indonesia

Pangkalan Kerinci is a town and district located in the Pelalawan Regency of Riau Province, Indonesia. It serves as the administrative capital and the primary economic center for the regency. The area is noted for its significant development potential due to its strategic location along the Trans-Sumatra Highway.

The history of the district is closely linked to migrants from the Kerinci Regency in Jambi Province. Members of the Kerinci ethnic group were the first to settle and clear the land more than a century ago, converting dense forest into a thriving settlement that has evolved into a modern region.
