Biak is the main island of the Biak Archipelago, situated in Cenderawasih Bay near the northern coast of Papua, an Indonesian province. It is located just northwest of New Guinea.
The island is characterized by its numerous atolls, reefs, and corals. In older literature, the island was also referred to as Mysore Island.
