Serang

Serang is a city located in the northern part of the Banten province on the island of Java, Indonesia. It serves as the provincial capital and was previously the administrative center of the Serang Regency. Prior to the formation of Banten province in 2000, the city was officially part of West Java province.

The northern section of the city features a coastal zone facing Banten Bay. This area is home to the historical site of Old Banten, which provides the namesake for the surrounding province.
