Pandeglang Regency is a regency located in the Banten province of Indonesia. It occupies a significant portion of the west and south coasts of Java Island, making it the most westerly regency on the island. The region encompasses a land area of 2,746.81 km² and includes several offshore islands, such as Panaitan, Peucang, Deli, and Tinjil.
The regency is bounded by Serang Regency to the north, Lebak Regency to the east, the Java Sea to the south, and the Sunda Strait to the west. Its administrative seat is the town of Pandeglang, situated in the northeast near Greater Jakarta. Another principal center for the region is the town of Labuan, located on the west coast.
Demographic data shows a growing population in the area, which rose from 1,149,610 in the 2010 Census to an estimated 1,437,046 by mid-2024. The region is characterized by its coastal geography and its position as a gateway between the Java Sea and the Sunda Strait.
