Cilegon is a major coastal industrial city located in the Banten province of Indonesia. Situated on the island of Java, the city covers a total area of 162.51 km2 (62.75 sq mi).
The population of Cilegon has grown steadily over recent decades, recorded at 374,464 during the 2010 Census and increasing to 434,896 by the 2020 Census. As of mid-2023, the official population estimate stands at approximately 470,378.
