Bitung is a coastal city located on the north-eastern edge of the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. It serves as a significant urban center within the province of North Sulawesi and faces Lembeh Island and the Lembeh Strait.
The region surrounding Bitung, specifically the Lembeh Strait, is recognized for its diverse marine life, most notably its colorful sea slugs. As of the 2020 Census, the city had a population of 225,134, making it the second most populated city in North Sulawesi after the provincial capital, Manado.
