Singhasari, also known as Tumapel, was a Javanese Hindu-Buddhist kingdom situated in east Java. It served as the dominant power in the region between 1222 and 1292, succeeding the Kingdom of Kediri.
The name Singhasari is cognate to the Singosari district of Malang Regency, which is located several kilometres north of Malang City.
