Kuningan is an administrative district (kecamatan) and town (kelurahan) situated in eastern West Java, Indonesia. It is located approximately 200 km east of Jakarta, positioned between the cities of Cirebon and Tasikmalaya. The area serves as the administrative center for the Kuningan Regency.
Geographically, the district lies to the east of Mount Cereme (Ciremai), which is the highest mountain in West Java. The eastern portion of the district is characterized by a valley landscape. Notable local landmarks include a statue of a horse known as Kuda Kuningan, and the region operates under the motto "Kuningan Aman Sehat Rindang Indah," commonly abbreviated as Kuningan ASRI.
