Cimahi is a landlocked city located in the West Java Province of Indonesia. It is situated immediately west of Bandung and is part of the larger Bandung Metropolitan Area. The name "Cimahi" incorporates the prefix "Ci," which translates to "river" in the Sundanese language.
The city covers an area of 42.42 km2. According to census data, its population grew from 541,177 in 2010 to 568,400 in 2020, with a mid-2024 official estimate of approximately 581,994 residents. Economically and strategically, Cimahi is recognized as a major center for textile production and serves as a location for several military training centers.
