Weda is a district located on the east coast of Halmahera, which is the largest island in the Maluku Islands of Indonesia. The district encompasses 24 small offshore islands.
The village of Were serves as the administrative center for Weda and also functions as the capital of the Central Halmahera Regency. The Sawai language is spoken within the region.
