Tobelo

Tobelo is a town and district located on the eastern Indonesian island of Halmahera. It serves as the capital of the North Halmahera regency, which is situated within the province of North Maluku. The town was officially designated as the regency's capital during the district elections held in 2004.

As of the 2020 Census, Tobelo had a population of 34,150 residents. The town is characterized by its coastal geography, featuring a palm tree-lined road that connects it to Galela. Demographically, the area is predominantly Christian with a significant Muslim minority; notably, a Protestant Church has been established in the town since at least 1924.
