Sofifi is a town located on the west coast of the Indonesian island of Halmahera. It serves as the capital of the North Maluku province, a role it has held since 2010. The town replaced Ternate as the provincial seat of government.
Geographically, Sofifi straddles the border between the North Oba District of the Tidore Islands city and parts of the South Jailolo District of the West Halmahera Regency. According to the 2020 Census, the town had a population of 2,498, while the neighboring North Oba District recorded a population of 19,552.
