Kairatu is a small town and district (kecamatan) located on the southwestern coast of the Indonesian island of Seram. It serves as an administrative division within the West Seram Regency.
Demographic data indicates that the Kairatu district had a population of 54,866 people according to the 2010 census. Following a subsequent split of the district area, the population was recorded at 27,040 in the 2020 Census and reached an official estimate of 26,717 by mid-2023. The town itself had a population of 10,266 inhabitants as of mid-2022.
