Rantauprapat

Rantauprapat is a large town located in the North Sumatra province of Indonesia. It serves as the administrative seat and capital of the Labuhan Batu Regency. The name Rantauprapat also identifies a specific village situated within the district of Rantau Utara.

The town's geography is characterized by three main roads and the Bilah River, which flows through its center. According to census data and official estimates, the population grew from 140,778 in 2010 to 183,094 as of mid-2025. A portion of the local population frequently migrates to larger urban centers, such as Medan, to pursue higher education or employment opportunities.
