Pangururan

Pangururan is a town and district located in the North Sumatra province of Indonesia. It serves as the administrative seat (capital) of the Samosir Regency and holds the distinction of being the largest town situated on Samosir Island.

The district covers a total area of 121.45 km2. While it lies primarily on Samosir Island, two villages within the district are located on the mainland of Sumatra. According to the 2020 Census, the population was 34,209, with an official estimate reaching 36,218 by mid-2024.
