Kisaran is a large town located in the North Sumatra province of Indonesia. It serves as the administrative capital of the Asahan Regency. While it does not currently hold the status of an independent city, the town is organized into two primary administrative districts: West Kisaran District and East Kisaran District.
The town is strategically positioned along major transportation routes in northern Sumatra. It is situated on the Trans-Sumatra Highway and lies directly in the path of the region's railway network.
