Gunung Tua is a town located in the Padang Bolak administrative district within the North Sumatra province of Indonesia. It serves as the capital seat of the North Padang Lawas Regency.
The town was formerly part of the South Tapanuli Regency until July 17, 2007, when it was designated as the capital for the newly established North Padang Lawas Regency. As of mid-2023, Gunung Tua had a population of approximately 14,460 inhabitants.
