Balige

Balige is a town located in the North Sumatra province of Indonesia. It serves as the seat and capital of the Toba Regency. The town is situated approximately 240 kilometers away from Medan and is positioned about 60 kilometers from Parapat, which is another significant town on Lake Toba.

The area is a recognized tourist destination primarily for its proximity to Lake Toba, which is known as the largest crater lake in the world. As of mid-2024, Balige had a population of 47,284 inhabitants.
