Poso is the administrative capital of Poso Regency, located on the shore of the Gulf of Tomini in the central part of Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. It serves as a primary transportation hub and main port for the central-southern coast of Central Sulawesi.
The urban area of the city is divided into three districts: Poso Kota, North Poso Kota, and South Poso Kota. As one of the oldest and largest towns in the province, it had a total population of 47,592 as of mid-2024.
