Wolo (1902–1989) was an American artist, caricaturist, muralist, puppeteer, and author of children's books. Originally from Europe, he emigrated to the United States following World War I. After spending six years working various odd jobs, he dedicated the next sixty years of his life to a professional career in the arts.
Wolo exhibited his work in Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. While based in San Francisco, he contributed a daily caricature column titled "I Saw You" to the San Francisco Chronicle. His diverse artistic output included painting murals for restaurants and hospital wards, writing five children's books, and performing as a puppeteer for television on KPIX 5 and at private children's parties.
