The Wanga Kingdom was a traditional kingdom located in western Kenya. It was inhabited by the Wanga (Abawanga) tribe, who are part of the Luhya people (Abaluyia).
At its peak, the kingdom spanned an expansive territory from Jinja in the west to Naivasha in the East African Rift. It is recognized as a significant African empire and was considered the most organized structure of government in pre-colonial Kenya in terms of its political, economic, and military systems.
