Waling Municipality is a town and municipality located in the western hilly region of Syangja District, within the Gandaki Province of Nepal. It is situated in the Aadhikhola valley and is bisected by the historic Andhikhola River. The municipality was originally formed on January 24, 1997, through the merger of three Village Development Committees (VDCs): Waling, Dhanubase, and Pekhubaaghkhor.
Following a restructuring of the local government under the Federal Government System on March 10, 2017, the municipality's area was expanded to include ten additional VDCs. Waling is notably known as the "Pink City" because of the local practice of painting houses pink. It has been recognized by the Government of Nepal for its potential under the Smart City initiative and received awards for being the best municipality in the country and the Clean City of Nepal for the 2017 fiscal year.
