Solor

Solor is a volcanic island located in the Solor Archipelago off the eastern tip of Flores island in Indonesia's Lesser Sunda Islands. The island measures approximately 40 kilometres by 6 kilometres and covers a total area of 226.34 square kilometres. It features at least five volcanoes.

The island supports a small population that has engaged in whaling for hundreds of years. Residents primarily speak the languages of Adonara and Lamaholot. According to the 2020 Census, the population was 34,029, with an official estimate of 36,739 as of mid-2024.
