The Semang are an indigenous group of people residing in the Malay Peninsula. They primarily inhabit mountainous and isolated forest regions across several states in Malaysia, including Perak, Pahang, Kelantan, and Kedah, as well as the southern provinces of Thailand.
Members of this ethnic group are characterized by their dark skin and other physical traits. Due to these characteristics, they are sometimes referred to by the superficial term Negrito within the broader context of Southeast Asian ethnic groups.
