Muhajirin refers to the historical group of converts to Islam who were among the Islamic prophet Muhammad's advisors and relatives. These individuals emigrated from Mecca to Medina during a significant religious event known as the Hijra.
In contrast to the Muhajirin, the early Muslims who already resided in Medina and welcomed the migrants are referred to as the Ansar, or "helpers." While the term is primarily associated with Islamic history rather than a specific modern city, it identifies the foundational movement of early Muslim migration.
