Bima is a coastal city located on the eastern side of Sumbawa island in Indonesia's West Nusa Tenggara province. It serves as the largest city on the island and is distinct from the neighboring Bima Regency.
The population of the city grew from 142,443 in the 2010 census to an official estimate of 165,113 by mid-2024. While it shares a name with the adjoining Bima Regency, which had a population of 535,530 as of mid-2023, the city remains its own separate administrative entity.
