Bandar Lampung is the capital and largest city of the Indonesian province of Lampung. It is situated on the southern tip of the island of Sumatra.
The city was originally known as Tanjungkarang–Telukbetung, representing a unification of two major settlements within the region. It was officially renamed Bandar Lampung in 1983.
