Penajam is an administrative district (kecamatan) located in the East Kalimantan province of Indonesia. It is situated on the island of Kalimantan, also known as Indonesian Borneo.
The district serves as the location for the administrative capital of the Penajam North Paser Regency. Its district seat is situated within the village of Nipah-Nipah.
As of mid-2025, Penajam has a total land area of 1,207.37 km² and a population of 100,053 people.
