Barabai is a town located in the South Kalimantan province of Indonesia. It serves as the administrative capital of the Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency and is situated approximately 165 km away from Banjarmasin, which is the provincial capital.
The town is geographically positioned at the feet of the Meratus Mountains. These mountains form a north–south arc across the island of Borneo.
