Bantul is a town, district, and the capital of the Bantul Regency located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The district covers an area of 21.95 km² (8.47 sq mi) and had a recorded population of 64,360 during the 2020 Census.
Situated approximately 10 km (6.2 mi) south of Yogyakarta, the town is accessible via regular minibuses from the main Yogyakarta bus station. It serves as a commercial hub with numerous firms and agencies providing services to the surrounding region. Additionally, a primary road connects the area to the popular Parangtritis beach, which attracts many tourists from Yogyakarta on weekends.
