Serang is a city located in Indonesia on the island of Java. It serves as the capital of the Banten province and previously functioned as the administrative center of the Serang Regency.

Situated in the northern part of Banten province, the city features a coastal zone that faces Banten Bay. This area includes the historical site of Old Banten, which is the namesake for the province. Prior to the formation of Banten province in 2000, Serang was part of West Java province.
