Ponorogo Regency is an inland regency located in the East Java Province of Indonesia. The administrative capital of the kabupaten is the local town of Ponorogo, which is situated approximately 30 km south of Madiun and 65 km south of Ngawi.
The regency covers a total area of 1,418.62 km² (547.73 sq mi). It is notably recognized as the birthplace of Reog Ponorogo, a traditional Indonesian dance form. According to census data, the population grew from 855,281 in 2010 to an estimated 979,008 by mid-2024.
