Magetan Regency is an inland regency located in the western part of East Java Province, Indonesia. It shares a border with the Central Java Province and covers a total land area of 688.84 square kilometers. The administrative headquarters for the regency is situated in the town of Magetan.
The population of the region has shown steady growth over recent decades. According to census data, the population was 620,442 in 2010 and increased to 670,812 by 2020, with an official estimate reaching approximately 692,800 as of mid-2024.
