Bondowoso Regency is a landlocked regency located in East Java, Indonesia. It covers a total area of 1,560.10 km2 and is situated approximately a five-hour drive from the nearby large city of Surabaya.
The region has seen steady population growth, with figures rising from 736,772 in the 2010 Census to an estimated 788,007 by mid-2024. While both Javanese and Madurese are commonly spoken in the area, Madurese is the majority language.
