Blitar is a city located in East Java, Indonesia. It is situated approximately 73 km from Malang and 167 km from Surabaya. Geographically, the city lies between latitudes 8° 06' South and longitudes 111° 40' – 112° 09' East.
The city sits at an average altitude of 167 metres above sea level and covers a total area of 32.57 km2. It functions as an enclave, completely surrounded on all sides by the Blitar Regency. As of mid-2024, the official population estimate for the city is 161,204.
