Banyuwangi

Banyuwangi, formerly known as Banjoewangi, is a large town and administrative district located at the far eastern end of the island of Java in Indonesia. It serves as the capital of the Banyuwangi Regency.

The population of the town was recorded at 106,000 during the 2010 census and reached 117,558 by the 2020 census, with an official estimate of approximately 121,500 as of mid-2024. The urban area extends beyond the district limits to encompass significant portions of neighboring districts, which had a combined population of 345,861 in the 1990 Census.
