In the specific myth involving Ambat, he is depicted as the savior of his brothers who were trapped one by one in a ditch by an ogress named Nevinbumbaau. Although Ambat successfully freed them, his brothers later attempted to kill him out of envy regarding his wife, Lindanda. The story concludes with Lindanda escaping from her brothers after discovering her husband's death through blood on his comb.
