Wonosobo is a town located in the Wonosobo Regency of Central Java province, Indonesia. It serves as the regency seat and is situated on the Dieng Plateau at approximately 7.3684940°S 109.8983841°E, roughly 120 km from Semarang City.
The regency covers an area of 1,011.62 km² and shares borders with several other regions, including Temanggung and Magelang to the east, Purworejo to the south, Kebumen and Banjarnegara to the west, and Batang and Kendal to the north. As of the mid-2024 official estimate, the population of the regency is 920,506.
