Semarang is the capital and largest city of the Central Java province in Indonesia. It serves as a significant regional center and remains an important port today.
Historically, Semarang was a major port during the Dutch colonial era. In recent years, it has gained recognition for its environmental standards, being named the cleanest tourist destination in Southeast Asia by the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard (ACTCS) for the period of 2020–2022.
